From The Inquirer:
FOURTH QUARTER SALES in the PC market fell once again as computer vendors wrapped up a disappointing 2012.
Research firm IDC said that over the final quarter of the year, revenues were down some 6.4 percent compared to the same period in 2011. Overall, researchers found that three of the top five PC vendors saw a drop in shipments on the quarter.
An IDC analyst blamed the drop on the vendors, which he said had mismanaged the rollout of Windows 8 systems.
After the groan inducing blurb a bit ago (actually it was posted after this but read before this, so does that make it ago or after? hmmm)
anyway, this made me almost have coffee come out my nose.
Let me spell this out for the analyst’s that just don’t get it yet…
*clears throat*
Windows 8 is useless on a non touch screen computer or device because the layout is absolutely horrible to go to from Windows 7. Nobody wants Windows 8 because they made it look like a child’s play toy with cute wittle blocks that are pointless if you actually use a computer for more than chatting and reading emails.
Why is it so hard for people to grasp this fact? Sure windows 8 has improvements under the hood but the majority of people I have spoken to have said the same things, “Why bother”, “It looks stupid”, “I don’t have a touch screen”….
Vista was better than Windows 8. I still use Vista! For all you Vista haters, you do know Windows 7 is the same with some tweaks, right? People hated Vista because it removed a ton of old hardware from working. Buy newer stuff or sit there with you paper and pencil to mail letters.
Bravo and here here! (Except Oldster likes it.)
I thought it was because I bought an iPad!
