If the Samsung lawsuit wasn’t bad enough, HP announced their new All-in-One lineup today, the Spectre One range, but something seems fishy about the devices.

One could argue that the design of the new devices kind of resembles the iMac lineup, but something irked us even more. If you look at the images of the keyboard and trackpad that HP are going to offer, it’s easy to mistake them for peripherals that Apple has sold for years.
On the other hand, there is only so many ways to make a keyboard. Radical changes to the basic design don’t last long. Witness the Dvorak keyboard layout. Unless you’re old, like some of us, you’ve probably never even heard of it, let alone used one.
I heard of it, I had one, and I’m proud to say I never used it. (Although I do remember a David Letterman (?) show where they brought on a woman they claimed was the fastest typist in the world to transcribe 100 pages. When she was done, it was all gibberish because she was a Dvorak touch-typist and they’d given her a QWERTY keyboard.
