Obama Promotes Pond Scum

Faced with the highest oil prices in nine months, President Barack Obama is backing pond scum as a path to energy independence, pitting the nascent algae-based biofuels industry against critics of his energy plan.

The administration yesterday announced as much as $14.3 million to support the development of biofuels from algae, as crude oil for April delivery rose to $107.83 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, its highest settlement price since May. “We could replace up to 17 percent of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in the United States,” Obama said in Miami during a speech on energy policy.

Yup, I’m sure that would be easier than the Canadian pipeline or drilling…

Drilling wont solve our problem *rolling eyes*

Maybe if someone in out government would grow a pair and make some tough calls, we may do ok.

How about telling OPEC the US will not pay more than…oh say….$40 a barrel for oil. Remove all tax breaks from the oil industry also.

    *cough* approve pipeline *cough*

There is a lot the government can do to solve a LOT of problems here at home but nobody will grow a set to actually say the truth.

What can the normal everyday Joe do? Not a damn thing. I don’t care what anyone says, you can vote all you want and it will mean nothing as long as some people in the running will cater to the low class that want everything free. Give freebies, get votes, simple.
