Heck, I wrote the first version of PC Labs benchmarks test. My first article was published in Compute and I got paid $30 for it. I've written 6 books --from Unix, to Apple, to PCs. I've met Bill Gates (not impressed) and Steve Jobs (definitely not impressed, God rest his soul). I'm not so much tired as I am in quite a bit of pain 24/7 --and, worst of all, I'm really disappointed at this stage of my life. I am in love with computers and technology. Unfortunately, these days what passes for tech hardly merits the title. I blame Apple for finally bastardizing the genre and, because of it, we are up to our asses in latter day mood rings that appeal to our emotional needs rather than true technology that enhances our intellect. And it's getting worse. I'll be spending some time over at The Casual Ham (www.casualham.com) fighting against the evils of menu-drive radios versus large, heavy, and friendly boat anchors that you can wrap your arms around and which will warm you on a cold day.
